We believe that part of being a Christian is being a Christian together (with other people) showing God’s love. Community is hard. It often means going out of your way to form friendships with people who may be different from you, but it’s worth it! We encourage a variety of venues for you to form life-giving relationships with others in community.
Congregational Gathering
It seems like we’ll take any chance we can to talk around a table of food. We love our "potlucks," we have BBQs, sometimes summer picnics and worship. Every Sunday, after our 9:30AM service, we’ll gather around coffee. Eating seems trivial, but the conversations that take place, and the relationships that form can be life-changing.
Adult Sunday School
Each Sunday, after our morning worship gathering, with coffee and cookies in hand, some of us gather to engage one another with vibrant discussion about interesting topics and teachings. These discussions center around everyday life, following some fantastic videos. We'll listen to teachers like Tim Keller, Paul David Tripp, and more. Walk-ins are welcome! Come as a stranger, but leave as a friend (or at least with some new conversation partners).
Friendship Group
The purpose of the Friendship program is to nurture the spiritual growth of people with intellectual disabilities in the context of personal and meaningful relationships. Sessions often start in a large group with singing, sharing, and prayer. Next, a Bible lesson is shared. This usually includes group participation, often in drama format. This is followed by one-on-one time, where mentors and friends meet to discuss the Bible lesson and pray together. Often this time includes activities related to the Bible study. Finally, the group gathers again for social time and a closing prayer or song.
Coffee Break
Coffee Break is a community Bible study for women. Join us Tuesday mornings in the church lobby from 10:00am-11:30am for Bible study, fellowship, prayer, and coffee. The name “Coffee Break” expresses the relaxed and conversational small group atmosphere. In this group, women discover for themselves (and with others) what the Bible says and means. The conversations and study guides are appropriate for all levels of Biblical knowledge and faith experience. There is no charge for materials.
